  1. Hi, I’m typing from Southern Italy, and your photos are beautiful.

Where do you live?I was intrigued by the one about Kigelia, so I looked it up on Wikipedia.Kigelia africana (Lam.) Benth., commonly known as the sausage tree or salami tree, is a plant belonging to the Bignoniaceae family. It is the only species in the genus Kigelia.

It is a tree found throughout much of tropical Africa, from Eritrea and Chad to South Africa in the south and Senegal and Namibia in the west. The name “kigelia” derives from the Bantu name kigeli-kaia used in Mozambique; the common name refers to the plant’s distinctive fruits, which are shaped like large, elongated sausages (this characteristic is also referred to in the plant’s Afrikaans name, Worsboom).

  2. Your work, Samiran, is truly phenomenal. You’ve captured moments at precisely the right time, showcasing the honesty and painstaking effort behind each shot. It’s clear your passion for the Sundarbans is infectious; your photos inspired one reader, Mariantonietta, to even do her own personal research.

Each of the four photos tells a unique story. The vibrant red crabs are mesmerizing, the fisherman’s boats evoke a sense of hard-won life, the soaring birds capture the untamed beauty of the forest, and the wide-shot of the mangroves is simply breathtaking.

It’s wonderful to see the comments reflect a genuine appreciation for your talent and a shared love for this incredible place. Your work is a gift to us all, and it’s clear that your dedication has inspired not just me, but so many other readers around the world.
